Town Information
Katsushika is located in the northeast of Tokyo. The area is close to the Tokyo's new iconic tower "Tokyo Sky Tree". There are large parks such as Mizumoto Park, which is the only park with waterfront scenery in Tokyo, and gardens such as Horikiri Iris Garden as well as museums, and historic sites. The area is also known for remaining an old traditional atmosphere of Tokyo.
Campus
Tokyo University of Science opened its new Katsushika Campus in April 2013. The new campus houses educational and research activities for departmental groups with a focus on interdisciplinary research and community collaboration. In addition, the vast and spacious site of the new campus is integrated with plans for a park in Katsushika-ku, with an “academic park” design that includes a library, gymnasium, cafe, convention center, and other facilities. Positioned between the Kagurazaka and Noda campuses, the three campuses are working together to promote accelerated academic development as well as making significant social contributions.
