In the Department of Industrial Chemistry, education and research are carried out from the industrial and engineering perspective of chemistry, and in addition to academic research in a broad variety of fields, such as creation and analysis of substances and materials, resources and energy, environmental conservation, chemical processes, and biochemistry and life sciences, the objective is to foster human resources who can implement and practice "monozukuri" (manufacturing) that aims for sustained development of human society and contribute to the improvement of academic standards for chemistry through independent research activities.
