• Communications / Information

  Conveying information without errors. This is an important role to be fulfilled by communication. However, the radio waves sent out from a cell phone on the move are subject to many different types of interference and obstruction, and signals from a computer connected to the Internet are also exposed to noise and distortion. Building circuits and systems to transmit image and sound information correctly to the recipient is also a task of electrical engineering.

• Energy / Control

  Moving things requires energy, and the cleanest energy is electric power. How this electric power is generated and distributed is a major issue in energy measures for the future. It is also important to control this energy to ensure its effective use, and to control robots, automobiles and the like while accurately tracking their state.

• Materials / Electronics

  We are surrounded by substances of many different types and forms. The development of new materials from these substances is gaining much attention, and important pillars supporting them are various materials and electronic devices mainly consisting of semiconductors. Electrical engineering also includes designing electronic circuits as suitable for a given application, and developing new electronic components and materials.
