The undergraduate program of this department covers the following key areas of electrical engineering: electric and control systems (energy, control, and environment), electronics and materials (electronics, solid-state properties, and materials), and information and communication systems (information, communications, and computers). Curricula have been designed so that students can explore any of these areas.
In response to the growing importance of interdisciplinary research, we train internationally-minded and highly ethical professionals who have advanced design skills and knowledge across multiple areas of electrical engineering.

Research Groups & Research Areas

  • Electrical and Control Systems

Energy is fundamental to every industry. By appropriately controlling electric energy, not only we can light up our surroundings, but also manufacture automobiles in factories, run shinkansen bullet trains, operate robots, and create a safe, secure and prosperous society.

Hoshi Research Group / Imura Research Group / Katayama Research Group / Kimura Research Group / Kondoh Research Group / Nakamura Research Group

  • Electronics and Materials

Hardware such as consumer electronics and computers consists of semiconductor ICs and various electronic components.
In this area of study, laying a foundation for the creation of highly functional next-generation electronic equipment, we conduct research on circuits, materials, and their physical properties which serve as elementary building blocks of modern electronics.

Hyogo Research Group / Nagata Research Group / Sugiyama Research Group / Takagi Research Group / Takano Research Group

  • Information and Communication Systems

Information is a collection of meaningful data, such as characters, numbers, sounds or images. The exchange of this information is called communication. Computers (electronic calculating machines) are able to process, manipulate and communicate various information rapidly and accurately.
