Introduction

The Department of Applied Electronics specifies its educational philosophy as being the "creation of science and technology from the standpoint of a broad engineering infrastructure and harmonization of people and nature," and its objective is to cultivate human resources who can contribute to the development of science and technology from multilateral and new perspectives, who also possess abundant human qualities and creative abilities as well as international character.

  • In addition to increasing the human capacity of first-year students through an all-round liberal arts education at the Oshamambe Campus situated in rural Hokkaido, solid education is provided to build a foundation for specialized education such as general classes for human science and English, as well as mathematics, physics, IT, and basic engineering labs common to the 3 departments.
  • Starting in the students' second year, human resources who can contribute broadly to human society are cultivated by carrying out education and research at the Katsushika Campus that builds strong basic scholastic ability and applied skills across engineering as a whole, such as device engineering, information engineering, computer engineering, mechanical systems engineering, measurement/control engineering, etc., with electronics as a backbone.
