To advance the TUS SciTech Vision, Tokyo University of Science established the TUS SciTech Initiative in 2025 under the direct supervision of the President as a new organization designed to respond flexibly and strategically to university-wide educational and research projects.

Under the leadership of the President, the TUS SciTech Initiative promotes university-wide strategic projects and interdisciplinary educational and research projects from a medium- to long-term perspective through a flexible and responsive organizational framework.

Message from the Director

With a view to realizing our vision for the future, “Helping to build our global future TUS” as we approach the 150th anniversary of our founding in 2031, Tokyo University of Science (TUS) is developing the TUS SciTech Vision under the leadership of the President.

The Organization comprises three constituent units: the Research Institute for Science and Technology, the Research Institute for Biomedical Sciences, and the Research Equipment Center. By integrating the expertise of these units, the Organization aims to advance innovative research unique to Tokyo University of Science at a world-class level.

Achieving this vision requires us to strengthen our capacity to take a comprehensive view of the University’s educational and research activities and integrate them strategically across disciplines and organizational boundaries. Equally important is the need to foster closer collaboration not only within the University but also with a wide range of external institutions, creating new knowledge and social value together.

Against this backdrop, in FY2025, we established the TUS SciTech Initiative directly under the President. The Initiative serves as an agile, university-wide organization capable of responding swiftly and effectively to educational and research projects that require coordinated action across the University, thereby advancing the TUS SciTech Vision.

Guided by this initiative, the Initiative will drive forward, with speed and flexibility, strategic projects that warrant university-wide commitment from a medium- to long-term perspective, as well as interdisciplinary educational and research initiatives that transcend conventional boundaries.

We sincerely appreciate your continued support and cooperation as we work together to realize our vision for the future.
