University of Padua Delegation Pays Courtesy Visit to TUS and Discusses the Future Development of Academic and Research Exchange

On September 28, 2026, a delegation from the University of Padua (Italy), including Mara Thiene, Delegate for Double Degree Programmes and International Rankings, and Andrea Gerosa, President of the School of Engineering, paid a courtesy visit to the Kagurazaka Campus of Tokyo University of Science (TUS). Located in the city of Padua in northern Italy, the University of Padua is a public comprehensive research university; having been founded in 1222, it is one of the world's oldest institutions of higher education. With more than 800 years of history, it continues to demonstrate outstanding research capabilities and a highly international outlook, and is widely regarded as one of Italy's leading universities.

From TUS, Vice President Yukishige Kondo, Kohei Soga, Director of the Organization for Innovation and Social Collaboration, and Eiji Watanabe, Director of the Center for Promotion of Internationalization, attended the meeting; they welcomed the delegation and engaged in a lively exchange of views on the future development of educational and research exchange. It is expected that this visit will help to spur deeper collaboration between the two universities.
