On July 8, 2026, a delegation led by Vice-Chancellor Zaliman Sauli of the Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP, Malaysia) paid a courtesy visit to TUS' Kagurazaka Campus. UniMAP is a national engineering university located in Perlis, the northernmost state of Malaysia, which undertakes educational and research activities primarily in the fields of engineering and technology.
From TUS, President Masatoshi Ishikawa, Vice President Yukishige Kondo, Professor Hiroshi Takemura of the Faculty of Science and Technology (which conducts joint research with UniMAP), and Director Eiji Watanabe of the Center for Promotion of Internationalization were in attendance to welcome the delegation and to engage in a lively exchange of opinions, particularly regarding the future development of academic exchanges in the fields of engineering and technology.
TUS and UniMAP signed a university-wide agreement in April 2025 and have been pursuing various exchanges, such as joint research and international conference collaborations. It is expected that this visit will help to spur deeper collaboration between the two universities.
