TUS to Hold TUS FORUM 2018 (10/29)

The Tokyo University of Science (TUS) released the TUS VISION 150 in order to outline a vision of itself for the year 2031, when it will mark the 150th anniversary of its founding. As part of this vision, TUS has announced its goal of becoming one of the world's leading research hubs in everything from basic research to applied research for a wide range of fields.

Now, with the aim of communicating TUS' research strengths and new developments to the wider public, the university will host the TUS FORUM 2018.

The purpose of the forum is to provide attendees with a deeper understanding of what TUS is doing to achieve the stated goals of the TUS VISION 150. They will learn about the research strategies TUS is using to raise its global profile, specifically the two TUS' global research strategies adopted by the Private University Branding Initiative of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the latest results they have produced.

During the latter half of the forum, Professor Fumihito Arai (Nagoya University Institutes of Innovation for Future Society) and Associate Professor Aya Ishihara (Chiba University Institute for Global Prominent Research) will discuss their research results, and Deputy Executive Director Miyoko Watanabe of the Japan Science and Technology Agency, which is responsible for the implementation of a broad range of promotion initiatives for Japan's Basic Program for Science and Technology, will deliver a speech about the importance of diversity in the development of science and technology in Japan.

The forum is open to members of the public and TUS faculty and staff. We look forward to having you attend.
