On November 2, 2021, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a UK company specializing in the analysis of higher education institutions, released its "QS Asia University Rankings 2022", the results of which reveal that Tokyo University of Science (TUS) has moved up in ranking for a second year in a row (142nd → 137th → 135th).
These rankings are produced by QS each year and are determined from a comprehensive assessment of universities encompassing eleven indicators, such as "academic reputation," "employer reputation," "papers per faculty," and "citations per paper."
This year's rankings looked at 687 universities throughout Asia, with 53 of those being newly included universities, and, although this number keeps rising every year, TUS finds itself situated among the top 20%.

TUS' rise in ranking can be attributed to its characteristic research strengths and, in particular, its high score in "employer reputation," as evidenced by the career success that TUS graduates find both in Japan and overseas.
