QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021 was announced by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), which is a UK-based company specializing in education. These rankings calculate scores based on indicators such as global reputation surveys of researchers and employers, and the number of research citations per paper. In continuation of last year, Tokyo University of Science made the rankings in two broad subject areas (*1) and 8 subjects (*2) for a total of 10 disciplines. In six of the disciplines, TUS ranked higher than last year, indicating that TUS' research abilities were regarded highly and in a diversified manner.
TUS will continue its efforts to make approaches toward promoting world-leading creative research and increasing global presence.
(*1) Broad subject areas are the five subject areas of "Arts & Humanities", "Engineering and Technology", "Life Sciences & Medicine", "Natural Sciences" and "Social Sciences & Management"
(*2) Subjects represent the subdivision of the five broad subject areas into 51 research fields.
