On November 25, 2020, the results of the "QS Asia University Rankings 2021", which ranks universities in Asia, were announced by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a university evaluation organization in the UK.
Compared to its 142nd place ranking last year, the Tokyo University of Science moved up 5 ranks to 137th place. It ranked 18th among all universities in Japan, and 3rd among private universities.
These rankings evaluate universities' comprehensive strength based on 11 indicators, including "academic reputation and employer reputation", "papers per faculty", "citations per paper", etc., and are published every year by QS.
This year, 634 universities from various countries in Asia were ranked, including 93 newly participating universities.
In addition to research strength, which is a characteristic of TUS, TUS scored particularly high in "employer reputation", demonstrating that graduates' activities are regarded highly both within and outside of Japan.
