In THE University Impact Rankings 2019 published by the UK education journal Times Higher Education on April 3, 2019, the Tokyo University of Science ranked 3rd among private universities in Japan (ranked 201-300 globally).
This ranking is the first ranking in the world to measure the "extent of contribution to society" of universities. Among the 17 goals advocated by the United Nations in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it evaluates the state of approaches by universities toward 11 goals excluding 6 goals, and was implemented for the first time this year.
In particular, TUS ranked 35th in the world for its approaches toward Goal 13, "Climate Action." Globally, TUS ranked 201-300 universities, and 14th among universities in Japan (3rd among private universities).
