TUS signs Academic Exchange Agreement with the University of Applied Sciences Jena (Germany)

On June 27th, 2007, Tokyo University of Science signed an Academic Exchange Agreement with the University of Applied Sciences Jena in Germany.

Founded in 1991, the University of Applied Sciences Jena consists of eight departments, including Electrical Engineering, Fundamental Sciences, Medical Engineering and Biotechnology, and SciTec.

The University has a teaching staff of 130, an engineering and management staff of 215, and 4,900 students. Located in Jena, home of the optical giant Carl-Zeiss, it is one of Germany's newer universities. It has enjoyed significant growth in recent years as an institution specializing in science and engineering.

In future, our two universities will promote a cooperative relationship through
・ exchanges of academic theses, educational materials and other bibliographical
materials related to science and technology,
・ collaborative research, and
・ exchanges between researchers and students for lectures, as well as up-to-date
research and surveys.
