TUS Signs Academic Exchange Agreement with Ohio State University

On June 24th, 2007, Tokyo University of Science signed an Academic Exchange Agreement with Ohio State University of America. Founded in 1870, Ohio State University (OSU) is the biggest general university in the USA, boasting 18 Faculties and 170 departments. Home to some 38,000 undergraduates and 10,000 graduate students, the university is ranked 57th among all US universities and 19th among public universities (according to the US News and World Report).

As well as aiming to be a pioneer in the fields of life sciences, cancer research, polar research and planetary research, OSU is also engaged in joint research on the Large Binocular Telescope (LBT) together with the University of Arizona.

In future, our two universities will promote a cooperative relationship through:
・ exchanges of academic theses, educational materials and other bibliographical
materials related to science and technology,
・ collaborative research, and
・ exchanges between researchers and students for lectures, as well as up-to-date
research and surveys.
