The Tokyo University of Science entered into an academic exchange agreement with the University of Ulster of Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, on August 22, 2006.
The University of Ulster is comprised of five faculties: Arts, Business and Management, Engineering, Life and Health Sciences, and Social Sciences. It has a student body of some 20,000 and a faculty of some 3,000. It is home to the Fire Safety Engineering Research & Technology Center, which is one of the world's foremost facilities engaged in active research and education on fire safety and engineering.
Through this agreement, both universities will work to expand international understanding, relations, and friendship, while at the same time encouraging education in regional society, vocational training, and cross-cultural activities and programs that will support the students and faculties of both universities as well as the universities themselves.
