What is Photocatalysis?

"Photocatalysts" are materials which absorb light to bring it to higher energy level and induce a chemical reaction called "photocatalysis". One of the profound substances known is the [Titanium dioxide (TiO2)]; which was discovered by the university's former President, Professor Akira Fujishima, Ph.D.

At this center, you can see this chemical reaction happen right before your eyes! We also have a lot of other interesting displays that use UV light from the sun as a photocatalyst, like the "futuristic toilet".
