Professor Satoshi Omura, a Graduate of the Graduate School of Tokyo University of Science, Wins Nobel Prize

This year, Satoshi Omura, professor emeritus at Kitasato University and two other distinguished scientists were selected for the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
The reason for Professor Omura winning this award is the "discoveries concerning a novel therapy against infections caused by roundworm parasites."
He received his Masters of Science degree in 1963, and a Ph.D. in Science in 1970, both from the Tokyo University of Science.
Professor Omura receiving this award is a first for private universities.
