45 High School Students from India and Taiwan Visit TUS through the JST's Sakura Science Plan

On Wednesday, May 24, as part of the Sakura Science Plan organized by JST, 45 high school students from India and Taiwan visited the Kagurazaka Campus.

This marked an opportunity for outstanding students from Asia to visit Japan for a short period of time as part of the Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science ("Sakura Science Plan") organized by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), and visit TUS as an educational institution in Japan, with an aim for the youth of Japan and Asia who are responsible for the future to deepen exchanges in the field of science and technology.

After a welcome speech by Tamotsu Shinotsuka, who is Director of Center for Promotion of Internationalization at TUS, the students visited the Mathematical Experience Plaza and Museum of Science. During lunch, they deepened exchanges with foreign students from Taiwan who are enrolled at the University.

Afterwards, a lecture was held by Jin Akiyama, who is Director of the Mathematical Education Research Center, in English, to which the high school students listened attentively.
