The Center for Fire Science and Technology in the Research Institute for Science and Technology of the Tokyo University of Science will host the 7th international symposium on "Wind and Fire" and MEXT-Supported Program for the Strategic Research Foundation of Private University "The Center for Fire Safety Information Based on Sharing of Expertise in Asia." Participation is encouraged. For details refer to Program (japanese only).

At the Center for Fire Science and Technology, the research project "The Center for Fire Safety Information Based on Sharing of Expertise in Asia." was adopted as MEXT-Supported Program for the Strategic Research Foundation of Private University, and activities are underway. This project examines policies that improve safety through damage analysis, etc. by forming a network among Asian countries based on the fact that fire damages unique to ultra-highrise buildings and underground spaces are becoming apparent, as Asia's buildings and cities are becoming taller, deeper and more modern, at a speed and scale that was unheard of in the past.

At this international symposium, the state of fire damages both within and outside of Japan, as well as measures to reduce damages, will be introduced, taking the results of this project into consideration.
