Conclusion of an academic exchange agreement with Korea University (Republic of Korea)

On October 1, 2007, the Tokyo University of Science and Korea University signed an academic exchange agreement. Established in 1905 and located in Seoul, Korea University is the Republic of Korea's top private university. It ranks only behind Seoul National University in terms of prestige.

Based on this agreement, both institutions will promote a collaborative relationship through the following activities:
- Instructor exchanges
- Student exchanges
- Planning and implementation of scientific cooperation
- Exchange of academic information and publications
- Promotion of other academic activities

- Korea University is ranked No. 150 on the top 200 list of the THES World University Rankings 2006 (Seoul National University is ranked No. 63).
- In celebration of the 100th anniversary of its founding in 2005, the university is currently promoting international collaboration through the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE).
- Although the main language used at the university is Korean, 30% of lessons are already being conducted in English. Plans call for 60% of lessons to be conducted in English in 2010.
- With 20% of CEOs in the ROK's political and financial circles being graduates of Korea University, the university wields considerable influence in the country.
