So Tokyo University of Science aims to train people who will play a role in a series of innovations in the technological development and commercialization process based on the our achievements in the scientific and technological research.
In the Department of Master of Intellectual Property, students learn about "technology," "management," "law" and "international relations" to become intellectual property professionals.
The development of world-class intellectual property professionals through a practical education
In recent years, the progress in industrial technologies using IT as a tool dramatically changed the industrial structure. Under these circumstances, it is critical for the foundation of competitiveness for country's industry and enterprises to strategically exploit intangible assets, such as intellectual property. It has been pointed out the necessity to strategically deal with the "creation", "protection", "exploitation" and "improvement of human infrastructure" that support these factors to make Japan a country built on intellectual property. Furthermore, it is increasingly important to stimulate intellectual creation, appropriately protect obtained results, and establish economic and social system that makes effective use of them. Because of these factors, we have established a professional graduate school of intellectual property to raise advanced intellectual property experts.
