About the Areas of Study Electrical Engineering
The graduate program of the Faculty of Science and Engineering's Department of Electrical Engineering provides students with opportunities to engage in research covering a wide range of fields, including image processing and information security, which are at the heart of the multimedia age; information communication modes such as digital transmission systems and optical/mobile communication; and electronics-related fields that focus on integrated circuits and semiconductor devices (which are often referred to as the ''basis of industry'') and electronic materials. Other areas of active research pursue energy and control systems, fusion plasma, ultra-high-speed motors, electrical discharges, and applied electrostatics as important fields that comprise electrical engineering.
The program also employs the ''Program of Cooperation'' as a way of responding to increasingly disintegrating borders among disciplines. By collaborating with such research institutes as the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), the program implements a system that makes instruction in the latest technologies possible.
